Friday, June 27, 2008 I been dying to sample this restaurant famous for its porridge & its a pity i didnt go when it was still located at Cosy Bay. Cosy bay has closed down, veri veri sad. I luv e place, a place fills wif memories. Anyway dar & i finali went. Its now located @ toa payoh park, next to e swimming complex. If u r driving, vehicle has to b parked @ e complex carpark. For those walking, its juz oppositte Toa payoh central.
Had heard tat its veri packed during dinner time, made a reservation beforehand... but when i reached, its probably only half-full mayb coz its wkday ba. Their new location is defintely better as in convenient for those taking public transport. As for scenary & atmosphere, erm of course i will take cosy bay haa...
There were mani varieties to choose from... & we finali decided on  Fried salted chicken @ $8 (small) Crispy & meat is tender. Almost perfect, no flaws to pick on =P .JPG) Kai lan in oysters sauce @ $6 (small) It is served wif mushrooms & salted fish (xian yu). Taste @ average standard, it will taste even better if they used baby kai lan, juz a opinion of mine...  Oysters in bean suace @ $8 (small) Dar ate e oysters & i was in charge of e beans lol... Sauce is fantastic! Give me a plate of sauce, i can finish a bowl of porridege/rice/noodles haa... A must try dish!  Sotong Sambal @ $7 (small) This is a veri disappointing dish. Take note, i ordered SAMBAL... but how comes it turned out to b sweet & sour?... ... dun understand Nonethless, its still a splendid meal for us haa... but i tink their prices are a bit high & there were unnecessary charges. Additional $2.40 was charged for towels, tea & peanuts, $2.00 for Preserved salt & sweet vegtables. It's ridiculous when i didnt ask for e peanuts & veg... & is nt as if e veg tasted so yummy & when those peanuts can be seen @ ani coffeeshop. Aniway after e fulling meal, we took a stroll ard e park. A small park though, it seems nice to me. I heard some sound coming from e pond, dar said there were crocodiles inside! Hmm... i dun noe if he was talkin rubbish, it seems reali unbelieveable to have such creatures in a neighbourhood park. Check out more if u r interested... I will stil b bac... haa
Tuesday, June 24, 2008 A veri bad wkend though i kept myself busy, completed mani stuff... finali applied my PDL, finali got a hair perm, finali got a new earpiece, but so 'ah gong' to left it @ bedok haix... then had a family gathering for my dearest grandpa birthdae... & finali met up wif xian after 'mani obstacles' haa... finali talked to her & i reali feel so much beta
Thanks xian! =) ... ... though so mani yrs of frenzship, even if i dun sae thanks u stil wil understand but its juz a word of 'thanks' i wun b so stingy lol...
I dun noe if i wil make e 'right' decision... i dun wish to disappoint u or other frenz who cares for me, i oso hope tat i can minmize my wrongs to the minium...
Xian & i went bugis J.Co Donuts... its wasnt tat crowded like @ raffles city. We managed to get a veri comfty sofa seat gee... didnt haf much appettie tat dae, we got 3 donuts + 1 free donut. Every complimentray sugar donut is given when a drink is purchased. We ordered iced thai tea... & its was disappointin & gross! We juz dun like e taste =(  We had tiramisu, choc banana & sugar. All at $1.30 each I like sugar donut, stil e original taste best yummy yummy! Choc is not my fav, but i muz say theirs is not too sweet, i still can accept =P & e banana taste marvellous wif e choc! Xian & i like tiramisu... too bad not these time. J.Co tiramisu donut is too sweet! & there is cream inside, gross!!! We dun like cream! (-_-) I got takeaway peanut butter & choc caviar for dar & pp... For choc caviar, pp commented~ alrite... haa she is e type 'eat to live' =P As for peanut butter, it is great dar luvs it too yummy yummy! but a flaw is tat too little peanut =( veri veri sure it wil taste even better wif more more peanut gee... i luv peanut! I had tried J.Co @ batam laz yr, at tat time i was tinkin, how nice it is, so much better than others i tried in spore, & its sold @ 90cents over tere. Erm will anyone bring it into our market... .... half a yr later, this breadtalk boss has done it! I cant comment as i never noe hw to appreciate choc haa...  6 different flavours, 2 which r liquer rum & malibu, cant rem e remaining liao. Wednesday, June 11, 2008 Oh yeah today is pp birthdae, we had pre-celebrate for her laz sat @ her requested--> manhattan fish market! Gosh we simply luv manahttan! haa... We went to the one at clarke quay The Central (pls dun get mix up wif The central mall, which is juz nearby as well). Compared to PS outlet, it is much spacious, probably coz there r less tables.  Got her vintage bag frm Hurs... haa i luv tis brand sia hope she likes it too =P  Pp body but piggy face haa...  While waitin for shirley arrival, we took mani pics =) Luckily i made reservation, not long after we sat down e queue was so long sia... had ask for outdoor seats, but were fully taken up. We end up sittin inside. I luv e outdoor scenary, luv sittin at e river =P  We finali got to kiss rene...lol  Soup of the day- Cream of mushroom & Clam chowder Add $3.90 to main course, to get soup of the day & a big glass of drink (wif a choice of lemon tea, peach tea, coke & sprite) I will prefers cream of mushroom, though it tasted kind of salty. Its standard is defintely better than other restaurants.  Fishermen's Giant Fried Platter for 2 or 3 @ $38.90 A platter of fishermen's fav food including fried prawns, fish, calamari, mushrooms with chips & garlic rice. Veri fragrant rice. Mushrooms r crispy outside & juicy inside. Fried prawns & fish r well-done! & of course my fav, calamari! haa...  The waiter will do tis before servin e manhattan seafood platter. Except for Pp & me, steven, rene & shirley were 1st time guests... & they were full wif great comments gee... ...  Manhattan Seafood Platter for 2 @ $33.90 (must try!!!) Deep fried fish fillet, calamari, oysters & award winning flaming prawns served with chips & garlic rice. I wonder wat 'secret recipe' they keep, hmm... their oysters have no fishy smell, pple like me who doesnt like oysters can put inside my mouth without hesitation =P & of course my fav, which is their famous flaming prawns... super yummy! lol... It served wif a sauce tat tasted of cheese, mayo, butter... & its e sauce tat gets me crazy over it haa... Their service is fantastic! Staff or even managers were busy, stil veri polite & they were fast too. Knowin tat was Pp birthdae, e assistant manager had all e staff stood infront of our table & sang her birthdae song, so loud enuf for every1 in e restuarant to hear them haa... They even took a pic of us wif their camera, & offer Pp a complimentary brownie. We had turned e brownie down as all of us were so full from e yummy food lol... I wrote a feedback card for them said: So broke & fat coz ur food is too nice haha...  Went Forbidden City for a drink after e sinful meal... ... Tried shooters-Illusion. Narnia is great too, especiali king peter omg is he handsome, prince caspian nt my type lol... aslan is cute too. I luv e movie, though e front part bores me, but e end part is exciting, wif mani war scences.
